WELCOME
The Agnes Water Triathlon is an annual not-for-profit local sporting event held in the beautiful town of Agnes Water, Queensland.
The Agnes Water Triathlon was first staged in 2003, under the direction of local, Marg Darcy. The race has since become a popular event on the race calendar, attracting triathletes from throughout Central Queensland, Wide Bay and beyond.

Thank you for choosing to participate in the annual Agnes Water Triathlon. It is great to see so many entries from throughout Central Queensland, Wide Bay, South East Qld.
We hope that you have enough time to stay for a few days to explore our little piece of paradise.
Please print this guide and read it carefully. It contains just about everything you need to know for the race. Due to current social distancing requirements, there will be no briefing on race day morning. Although we will have a short gather round briefing before the start to explain the transition flow and update you with any last minute information.

SPRINT DISTANCE: 750m swim, 20km cycle, 5km run
ENTICER TRI DISTANCE: 375m swim, 10km cycle, 2.5km run
AGNES WATER TRIATHLON

Agnes Water and it’s twin town of Seventeen Seventy, is located between Bundaberg and Gladstone, adjacent to the southern end of the Great Barrier Reef. Our town is off the main highway, so not as commercialised as the Gold and Sunshine Coasts, but very popular with grey nomads and back packers.
The weather in early October is normally glorious, and the water is normally very clear, and a comfortable 24 degrees Celsius. Note from the photos, that we may get a little surf at the start of the swim. The cycle leg is mostly flat, and travels along a quiet, country road, which is closed to traffic for the event. The 2024 run leg will be on the streets of Agnes Water.
Race distances are as noted above, and you can enter as either a solo competitor or as a team of two or three. Minimum ages as per Triathlon tab.

Event Briefing Notes will be uploaded to the Website a couple of weeks prior to the Event. A post on our social media page will advise when they have been uploaded.
Check in will be available on Saturday the 28th September at Tom Jeffery Park between 1:00pm and 2:30pm.
Competitors can also check in from 6.00am on race morning. Bike racking is from 6.00am on race morning.

OUR JUNIOR AQUATHLON
Saturday September 28th, 2024
The whole family is catered for with the Aquathlon. Lifeguards will provide water safety.
The Aquathlon is focused on participation and fun, rather than competition. Through events like this, we want to encourage kids to be involved in water sports, thereby improving their safety skills, and leading a healthy, active lifestyle.
Kids can participate either as individuals or as part of a team of two or three.
